This summer I sorted through eight years of photos (taken by myself or M). I’ll blog some of the most interesting over the next week.
The first is Mount Fuji and Enoshima Island taken from Zushi beach on a late afternoon in November, 2009. The lighthouse on Enoshima is visible, as is the silhouette of a fishing boat, and a trio of surfers, one on a paddleboard.
On the Kanto Plain, Fuji’s cone is ubiquitous for up to a hundred kilometers in any direction. I once dreamed of having a house where I could look out of the window at the sun setting behind Fuji. I’ve let that dream go, but every now and then I’m in the right place at the right time, and it’s a sight I never tire of.
Tomorrow: climbing Fuji
